I agree with Gary, some really good work coming out at the momentand it does seem the palette knife series has had a part to play. I think that working in a quicker, more chaotic way lets the artist play with things a bit more without being bogged down in making a more defined image, lets u focus on colours and areas of tone. Its clear your eye has sharpened on returning to these more considered paintings. Exciting, very impressed. |

Thanks for the most kind comment. I think if you push yourself into a direction your not used to, when you go back to what your used to it steps you up a gear and makes you see things more clearly. Using the palette knife I had no control ,so I was fighting to get things right, now I have control and I'm loving using the brush.Today we have the rain and the grey!! |

Anthony - what are you eating, I want some. I think the last few paintings since you seem to stop using a knife are incredible, they are stunning, they are absolutely ~#**%$£*"@''*. There is such a magical quality in the light. The clouds have a speed, a bustling, a hurrying feels to them. The colours are both muted and vibrant. When I first turned on my PC the impression I got was of a great celebration, a party ...but then again, you do live in the Malverns, what can you expect.
You are getting the clouds - we in Wales are getting the darkness, wind, rain! |
