British Camp Summer
13cm x 19cm, oil on millboard

Walked up from the Cottage in the wood and came across this view looking over towards British Camp. Found it odd that the farmers had left all the gate ways of their cow fences but had removed the actual fence itself. Very strange.

Thank you Jaci, that makes sense. Always living around silly rules now aren't we, seems to be the way of life. Really enjoyed this piece. sat on a very steep slope tho so wasn't that comfortable! Hope your well.

Antony, well done again. You manage to capture the atmosphere of your views so well. I can almost smell the vegetation. As for the gates.... it keeps the farmers options open to replace the fence. If they removed the gates as well as the fencing they'd probably not be 'allowed' to put up fences and gates again without expensive planning applications. That's my guess, anyway! I like the red underpainting.
