Its most certainly one of the old buildings in oxford I think. The most amazing place to put such a tree to the entrance of a church. |

It's a lovely strong pink.... almost unnatural but so welcome after the monochromatic winter palette. And I just love that dash or two of yellow and that tiny leaf of acid green, just one, right in the middle of the pink blossom, and the blue misty reflection in the window. Yes.... could look at this for ages. Thanks, Antony. |

Hi there Gary, thanks for the comment, it was a wonderful tree on the Oxford high street, the pinks are made from the limited palette of Crimson, cad red adn white with a little french blue. Not sure if I captured it right but was doing with the thumb box which killed my arm after 20mins!! |

Hi Antony - what is it with this tree.
I know the tree in winter but have just been asked to paint it from source photos. It must hold such strong memories for people.
I guess it is an almond or cherry tree, probably the first.
Do you make your pink from rose madder + white or some other alchemy? |
